Cello Lessons

At Long Ridge Music, we offer cello lessons for every level. The interaction of student and teacher is critical to mastering a musical instrument, and so each student is carefully matched with a teacher. Weekly lessons can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes in length.

Meet Our Cello Teachers

Inbal Megiddo (Cello) Israeli cellist Inbal Megiddo has given many concerts in Europe, Asia and America. Maestro Zubin Mehta describes her as an extremely talented, very musical musician. At her New York debut at the Lincoln Center her playing was hailed by the press as having magical expression and technical expertise. Recent performances include a recital in the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Carnegie Hall in New York, her Berlin debut with the Berlin Symphony at the Philharmonie and a recital at the Staatsoper, performances with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, and the Lithuanian Philharmonic Society, recitals in New York and Chicago, and a premier of a work by composer Ofer Ben Amotz in Denver, CO. She has had performances and radio broadcasts with the Jerusalem Symphony under the direction of Sergio Comissiona, live recital broadcasts in several countries including Israel, Germany, Spain, Ireland, the USA (Chicago - the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series - and New York's Bob Sherman Show on WQXR) and the Mishkenot Sha'ananim Music Center in Jerusalem. Ms Megiddo has made a recording of Israeli composer Hanna Levy's works. She has performed and toured extensively with her regular recital partner, pianist Saleem Abboud Ashkar. She has also regularly recorded and performed with the Grammy Award nominated group, The Yale Cellos.

Also in high demand as a teacher, Inbal has taught at Yale University, given master classes at institutions including the Royal Conservatory in Dublin, the La Salle School for the Arts in Singapore, the University of North Texas, and at festivals such as the Israel Cello Festival, International Dublin Master Classes. In addition, she has maintained a private studio, and works with the Stamford Young Artists organization.

Inbal Megiddo began her cello studies at the age of two, and gave her first performances a year later. She completed her Artist's Diploma at Yale University, where she also earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees under the guidance of Professor Aldo Parisot. She participated in master classes with such artists as Janos Starker and Michel Strauss and performed privately and received guidance from Mstislav Rostropovich. Ms Megiddo has participated in festivals in Banff and in Rolandseck (Bonn) as a soloist, as a member of chamber music ensembles, and as a performer in the master classes of Pinchas Zukerman and Yuri Bashmet, and at the West-East Divan Workshop with Daniel Barenboim. Ms Megiddo has received many awards and prizes, and has been a recipient of the America Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship, under the patronage of Isaac Stern, since the age of six. Ms Megiddo currently plays a Fiorini cello. She has been selected by the Stradivari Society as a rising star and is being assisted by them in a search for an instrument of the highest quality.
