David Warren Harewood was born and raised in New York City and attended the famous high school of Music and Art where upon he started playing the piano in his senior year. After a year at Northwestern University, he spent the summer at the Berklee School of Music followed by the Mannes College of Music and Queens College. He then spent 10 years as a church musician and played with various jazz and pop artists during that period.
In 2006, David attended the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music on full scholarship and graduated with a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies while studying classical piano with Alice Rybak.
Upon graduation, David traveled to Villard de Lans Jazz Festival in France and performed there with vocalist Heidi Schmidt. David has also performed in Sopot and Koszalin, Poland.
In 2009, David was a featured soloist at the Five Points Jazz Festival in Denver, CO.
David has taught music lessons to all ages since 1999 and is a sought after instructor.
