Luke Borkowski

Cellist Luke Borkowski enjoys a varied career in music. As a chamber musician, Luke’s engagements have included Bravo International Chamber Music Workshop, University at Buffalo String Workshop, Suzuki Chamber Music Workshop, Purchase New Music, Purchase Camerata, among numerous performances. Luke has belonged to the Purchase Symphony Orchestra, NYSSMA All-State String Orchestra, and Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra. He has also been principal cellist of the Orchard Park Symphony Orchestra, Southtowns Youth Orchestra, and ECMEA Orchestra’s.
Luke has experience teaching all age and experience levels. After attending Bravo International Chamber Music Workshop as a student for several years, he has been invited back as faculty assistant where he works with younger students. Luke currently teaches at Long Ridge Music center. His teaching style includes catering to the individual needs of the student, while at the same time making the lesson personal and enjoyable.
A native of Buffalo, New York, Luke Borkowski began studying cello at the age of nine. He began his studies with Nicole Bell and Lynne Ruda. He also studied for several years with Roman Mekinulov, principal cellist of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. He is currently studying music performance with Julia Lichten at the Purchase College Conservatory of Music.
