Semester Policies
ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE per family is $35.00. Checks made payable to Long Ridge Music Center.
A completed registration form with all applicable fees must be submitted before lessons are scheduled.
Please note: Because LRMC provides lessons for both public and private school students; we are unable to adhere to a specific school calendar.
Students of Long Ridge Music Center enroll by the term. Scheduling will commence approximately one month prior to the beginning of each semester on a first-come-first-served basis according to date of processed registration form. Scheduling priority is given to returning students with paid and completed registration. Students may register in the middle of a semester and tuition fees will be prorated to the remaining lessons.
If LRMC is provided 24-hours notice, a lesson missed for any reason will qualify for a make-up within the semester dates or during the makeup week following the end of the semester dates. The 24-hour cancelation notice is necessary because a time commitment is made to you by the teacher and is held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time. If LRMC is notified that a student has a prolonged illness involving hospitalization or confinement at home, full credit will be given for those lessons missed. Lessons are subject to teacher availability—in the event a teacher is ill or has a professional engagement or LRMC is closed because of weather conditions, a substitute instructor will be scheduled or a make-up lesson will be provided.
A lesson canceled within the 24-hours’ notice period will not be eligible for a makeup, credit, or refund.
Make-up lessons must be scheduled within the semester dates or during the makeup week(s) at the end of the current semester and before the following semester. Any makeups not scheduled within those dates cannot be rolled over to a new semester after the previous semester has ended. Lessons that are not attended may be prorated in advance at the time of registration. Scheduled make-up lessons that are canceled or missed by the student are not eligible to be re-scheduled.
The goal of Long Ridge Music Center is to ensure that each student receives quality instruction and is satisfied with their musical instruction. In the event that a student or family wishes to discontinue lessons during a term, a refund of 50% of the remaining lessons will be issued by LRMC.
