Virginia HerreraVicky Herrera combines her active performing career with her love for teaching voice. “If you can speak, you can sing” that’s her motto. She has 11 years of experience preparing students of all ages and levels to learn, accept, develop, control and master their vocal instrument using proper vocal technique, repertoire and interpretation.
She has earned a reputation as a complete artist combining effortless vocal technique with sensitive affecting interpretation. She studied voice in México, in Italy, and in the United States at OMTI (Opera Music Theater International in NJ) with Met Bass Jerome Hines and at the Center for Opera Performance in NYC., with Franco Iglesias. She has won vocal competitions and has performed in Zarzuela, Opera, Oratorio and in Concert in Europe, Latin America and the United States. Opera Companies: Anchorage Opera, Amato Opera, Pacific Opera, Verismo Opera, Riverside Opera, Bronx Opera, Queens Opera, Il Piccolo Teatro dell’Opera among others. Vicky has had the good fortune to perform with notable conductors such as Pablo Zinger, Anton Coppola, Gerardo González, Borislav Ivanov, Johannes Somary, Will Crutchfield, among others. She has been featured in the Tri-State area at the Weill Hall in Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Hall, Town Hall, Repertorio Español Theater, PNC Arts Center, Bergen Performing Arts Center, Symphony Hall, Rich Forum, National Hispanic Cultural Center and the Lensik Theater in New Mexico. |
