Brooke is a pianist, composer, and educator currently earning her degree in Jazz Performance from the Conservatory of Music at Purchase College. She has studied under the instruction of Matthew Fogg, Vadim Serebryany, Charis Dimaras, Donald Vega, Ingrid Jensen, and Gary Smulyan. Beginning with a background in classical piano and clarinet performance, Brooke moved to pursue a career in jazz and contemporary music after a visit to a jazz club in New York City. Her passion for piano pedagogy has led her to teach privately for several years, including modern rock ensembles, jazz combos, woodwind chamber groups, advanced jazz ear training, and jazz theory. She regularly performs throughout New York City and in her native state of Maine. Brooke enjoys helping to bring contemporary music to the public, having worked under the brand and marketing team at Jazz At Lincoln Center to promote their latest album Una Noche Con Rubén Blades.
Brooke’s approach to teaching balances foundational skills and personalized instruction to help foster individualized growth within each of her students. She advocates for the pure enjoyment of music rather than rigidity to encourage students to pursue a lifetime of musical freedom and proficiency.
