Jeb Dennis

Pianist and organist Jeb Dennis began piano study at the age of seven, and by age nine was playing organ solos for church services. At eleven, he enrolled at the Silvermine School of Music in Norwalk, CT studying with founder Juliet Shaw and her daughter Sandra Shaw-Murphy. Jeb started university-level study at age 15 with Karen Shaw, Professor of Piano at Indiana University-Jacob School of Music (also a daughter of Juliet Shaw). He received a Bachelor in Piano Performance from Indiana University, guided by Dr. Shaw, and continued post-collegiate study with her.
Jeb has studied with German Diez in New York, protege of pianist Claudio Arrau. He has performed for composer, conductor and multi-keyboardist Anthony Newman and in master classes of master-pianists Leslie Howard, David Dubal, Sarah Davis Buechner, Jeffrey Swan and Leonard Hokanson.
Since 1998 he has studied organ performance with pianist/organist Randall Atcheson and is currently Atcheson's Associate Music Director and organist at Stanwich Congregational Church in Greenwich, CT. In June 2006 he attended Yale School of Music's Church Music Clinic led by Yale organ professor Martin Jean.
In May 2010, he received his Masters of Music in Piano from State University of New York, Purchase as a student of pianist Stephanie Brown.
Mr. Dennis is in demand as an organist, notably substituting for organists Anthony Newman and Mary-Jane Newman several times. Jeb has received organ coachings from Anthony Newman as well as insight in interpreting the composer's solo piano music. He has a large and varied repertoire and regularly collaborates with classical and non-classical artists.
